The Winery
Bessa Valley Winery represents a masterful union of French winemaking tradition and the ancient terroir of the Thracian Valley—an exceptional wine region shaped by millennial traditions in viticulture dating back to the time of the god Dionysus.
Spanning 250 hectares of pristine landscape, our estate is distinguished by a unique architectural cellar carved directly into the hillside rock.
This natural sanctuary, formed by limestone walls bearing traces of prehistoric sea fossils, provides naturally stable temperature and humidity conditions, creating an ideal environment for the slow and precise maturation of our wines.
Every stage of our work is guided by rigor and respect for the land. From manual harvesting and double sorting of the grapes to the use of organic acacia vine supports in our vineyards, each decision is made to preserve purity, balance, and authenticity.
Our 3,555 m² winemaking facility houses 2,500 premium French oak barriques, carefully selected and used for no more than three aging cycles. This disciplined approach ensures a refined oak influence, allowing the character of the fruit and the expression of the terroir to remain at the forefront.
Today, Bessa Valley Winery stands as a global ambassador for Bulgarian wine. With 80% of our production exported to discerning connoisseurs across Europe, North America, and Asia, our wines carry the spirit and heritage of the Thracian Valley to the world.
